as someone feeling very stuck and overwhelmed trying to quote unquote change/revamp my life, i NEEDED this advice! i’ve loved your substack and just wanted to take the time to finally comment and thank you for creating such a great space on here 🫶
Great article! This seems to be mainly about pitching other creatives to collaborate- do you have any articles you could point me to that are about pitching brands? Xo
thank you! No not necessarily, I use this methods to reach out to producers, brand directors, creative directors etc too. You need to be clear on what specific thing you can offer as an art director or creative other than just saying you're looking for a (freelance) job. :)
Just restacked this post after it's been sitting in my inbox for weeks. It was absolutely worth saving. In a time when many are losing jobs or looking for new jobs (myself included), it's a reminder that we have the ability to CREATE. It doesn't have to be a business, per se, but rather create things that bring us joy, recognition, credibility, interest, audience, etc.
I only recently started writing on substack, am working on a podcast, and pursuing a small animated short...even though I am a music exec looking for her next FT gig. All can co-exist. Thank you for this.
